Danni has always had a great love for fitness and is a powerful athlete, having come from a background in National Gymnastics.

She completed her PT qualifications at college but still felt there was a lot more to learn when it came to free weights and consequently lacked confidence in this area. When Danni first started training in the gym she would only use resistance and cardio machines.

Knowing this was a weakness in her training knowledge she approached Luke to help with her training to build up her understanding of free weights.

Danni says "I feel I have learned a lot from Luke which has helped improve me as a trainer with my increased knowledge and confidence, but Luke also helped me progress in my own training too. He made me realise how effective weights are in achieving fitness goals of all kinds."

Danni is now training with Luke 3-4 times a week to see how far she can take her Powerlifting Career. With just under 6 months of Powerlifting Coaching from Luke, she cam second at the GBPF Senior British Powerlifting Championships, a magnificent achievement.

I've got a background in a wide range of sports, plus some time in the fitness industry and a couple of years studying Strength and Conditioning. I've been weight training seriously for around 8 years and, as a reoccurring hip injury (torn acetabular labrum) has limited my participation in sport, strength training has become a larger part of my life.

At the start of the year I was inspired by a friend to have a go at Powerlifting - and after a half decent performance in my first competition in April, I decided to start taking my lifting more seriously. Whereas previously I had been relying on my knowledge of strength training, in order to progress in the sport and qualify for the British Classic in October it made sense to join the Exclusive PT team - both for Luke's powerlifting expertise and the opportunity to train with two outstanding female lifters. With Luke's help, and despite my "physical complexities", I was able to hit my qualifying total of 545kg, and win the under 93kg class at the South West Classic in May.

Although I'm looking forward just having the chance to compete at national level, a 600kg total in October would be nice. After the British Classic I'm planning on moving up to the under 105kg weight class and seeing how far I can get.

I started training back when I was 18 , going to a gym to improve my fitness and conditioning for playing football in a senior ladies team, but quite quickly I discovered I loved the gym and started doing classes, which I kept going to even after I had stopped playing football. Somehow I ended up being drawn into the mysterious world of Crossfit, which back then was still not really known about in this country. But I heard rumours about Crossfit having the most brutal workouts you could get. And so with my hunger for a challenge I ended up attending Crossfit gyms to chase that post workout high that you only get when you throw yourself completely and ferociously into a WOD!! Good times!

However the competitive part of me was always desperately wanting to be the best and to be able to compete and although on the strength side of things I was almost unbeatable by the other women, body weight and cardio stuff was a real weakness of mine considering I have always been pretty heavy. So eventually I ended up being lucky enough to find Luke Andrews and Powerlifting. I love this sport passionately I feel like I've finally found something I was meant to do and one day I hope to be really successful.

I have a background in a wide variety of sports such as trampolining, athletics, volleyball and many other sports of which I got to county, national and international level.
I have also been interested in bodybuilding style training for just over a year and a half, starting at the age of 16. I moved from QE gym to Broadstone and was inspired by the amount of weight Luke’s lifters were achieving to hit. Luke got in contact with me and I started powerlifting in November 2016, this led to me competing 6 weeks after joining the Exclusive PT team and coming 1st  in the competition.

In my first competition, I got 102.5kg squat, 65kg bench and 127.5 deadlift. Since then my form has developed and my overall total has increased drastically.
Luke is a great coach and has taught me a large amount of knowledge I know about powerlifting and fitness.
